In a world that's erasing what Fidel Castro did to Cuba and Latin America, Lights Out brings the story to light. A good book can change a life and Lights Out is a good book for all ages.

I hope more of you will consider reading this honest and vivid memoir, specially those of you who will be traveling to Cuba.  For antique car aficionados, read about my father's red Chevy.  It could very well be one of the cars you'll admire while in Cuba.

Excerpt, Heroes Betrayed- Matos and Cienfuegos

So many think Fidel and Che Guevara were freedom fighters while true freedom fighters and heroes of the Cuban Revolution go mostly unknown.
I want to make a contribution, if only a small one, so the world will know these two great Cuban heroes. They are only two of many.
I realize I will reach few eyes and few ears, but maybe, just maybe, I can change a few hearts.
Heroes Betrayed

By the end of September, the communist influence in Cuba was stronger. The original goals of the Revolution were becoming more and more distant. Although the masses mostly were not aware that their country, their hopes, and their dreams were being stolen, it became increasingly difficult for the new Movimiento 26 de Julio, composed mostly of the original revolutionaries—including Huber Matos—to come up with a solution that would save the Revolution from the claws of communism. Even though the communists did not fight with the rebels, the victory was becoming theirs.
