It is no secret one of the reasons I wrote Lights Out was to bring the injustices and the atrocities of communism in Cuba out and into the light.

I'm of the school there can never be enough books about the evils of communism, whether it's a book from the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Asia, or Latin America.  Sadly, many victims of communism have died with their pain and their experience never having shared their story.  In many cases it is due to the fact literary agents and publishers turn these manuscripts down.  Self-publishing has changed all that.  Many books about the communism experience are being self-published and are being purchased and read by readers who seek the truth.

So when I look at my book on Amazon and I see customers who bought my book also bought another book about Marxism, communism and socialism, my heart skips with joy!

A thought or two about book reviews.......

We all know books come to us through many channels and many formats. Some readers borrow books from their local libraries, friends or family members. Amazon statistics show Lights Out is one of most gifted books about Cuba. It just occurred to me that when people receive a book as a gift, they may think they can't post a review on Amazon. Readers who receive any book as a gift can still post a review on Amazon or Goodreads. The review won't show as a verified purchase but it will be a valid review. The reviewer can state the book was a gift or borrowed from library, friend, etc.
